Addressing Cybersecurity Concerns
In light of the Omdia Cybersecurity Decision Maker Survey 2023, which highlighted that 92% of organizations experienced a security incident or breach in the past year, and the Federal Trade Commission’s report of $2.6 billion losses due to imposter scams in the US in 2022, the need for robust security measures is evident. This partnership aims to address these growing fraud risks with innovative solutions.
Innovations in Fraud Protection
The new Vonage Fraud Protection solution, soon to be available in the AWS Marketplace, is set to revolutionize fraud detection. It includes the Vonage CAMARA-based API SIM Swap (currently in alpha), the Fraud Defender solution enhanced with AWS’s generative AI services, and the Verify and Number Insights APIs integrated with Amazon Rekognition. These tools are designed to detect SIM card changes potentially linked to fraud, proactively identify fraud signals, enable secure silent authentication, and provide fraud scoring capabilities, all enhanced by AWS’s generative AI services.
Enhancing Mobile Fraud Protection
The collaboration between Vonage and AWS is not just about creating new products; it’s about enhancing mobile fraud protection for businesses. The integration of AWS generative AI services with Vonage’s solutions aims to provide businesses with more robust tools to safeguard against mobile fraud while also improving customer experiences.
Vonage CEO’s Perspective
Niklas Heuveldop, Vonage CEO and head of business area global communications platform for Ericsson highlighted the significance of this partnership. He said, “By working with AWS, we will accelerate our ability to embed communications and network APIs in applications and deliver new product offerings for AWS and Vonage customers.” Heuveldop believes this collaboration will unlock new capabilities within the 5G network, enhancing existing applications and fostering the development of new application classes.
Voicify’s Adoption of Vonage Solutions
Nick Laidlaw, CTO at Voicify, shared insights into how Vonage’s APIs are already integrated into their conversational AI experiences, particularly in the restaurant industry.
